Office of the President

Since its founding, the Office of President has been held by leaders who carried LBFFA’s mission forward, beginning with Bobby Glenn as the first president, followed by Ralph Rachel, Donnie Alexander, Wilfret Anderson, and Shelley Lozier. Today, Johnny Robinson continues that legacy as the current president.

    A devoted man of God and proud father of four, I’ve had the honor of serving as President of the LBFFA since 2022. My mission is to lead our members in serving our community through acts of love, mentorship, and education. If you share a heart for service and a desire to make a difference, I invite you to join us. Your community needs willing hands and faithful hearts to carry out this work in our communities. Together, we can be the light that shines in times of need.

  • Terry Maylor

    VICE-PRESIDENT

    Terry Maylor serves as Vice President of the Liberal Black Firefighters Association, where he is committed to advancing the organization’s mission to recruit, educate, integrate, and mentor minorities pursuing careers in the fire service. A Battalion Chief with the City of Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue, he is a dedicated public servant with over 17 years of leadership and operational experience.  Guided by strong principles and a foundation in philosophy, he is a family man known for his empathy, integrity, and generosity of time in community organizing and mentorship.  Terry Maylor is proud to be in his second term as Vice President of the LBFFA.

  • Jackay Hawkins

    SECRETARY

    Jackay Hawkins is a dedicated public service professional with a deep commitment to equity, leadership, and community development. As Secretary of the Black Liberal Firefighter Association, she serves with purpose and precision overseeing organizational records, internal communications, and strategic operations that support and uplift black firefighters and public service professionals.

    Outside her work within the association, she is a licensed Florida REALTOR ® and lifelong Broward County resident with a strong commitment to community development. Bringing a unique blend of public service and private sector experience to every endeavor, Jackay currently works with the City of Fort Lauderdale and holds an appointed position as an Alternate on the Pompano Beach Zoning Board of Appeals.

  • Shelley Lozier

    TREASURER

    Shelley Lozier has proudly served the community for the past twenty-seven years as a licensed Paramedic and Fire Captain with Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue. In addition to his fieldwork, Shelley has dedicated significant time as an adjunct college professor at local training centers and universities, educating future professionals pursuing careers in the noble field of emergency services.

    Currently, he serves as the Treasurer of the Liberal Black Fire Fighters Association. Our primary mission is to raise awareness about the lack of diversity within the industry and to support the recruitment of minorities into the fire service.
